HealthChoice Medicare Supplement Plans With and Without Part D
Non-Network Pharmacy Benefits
Although HealthChoice may pay for
your covered prescriptions if they are purchased at a non-Network pharmacy, a reduced,
non-Network benefit may apply. An exception may be made for non-Network pharmacy access
in the event of an emergency.
It is considered an emergency when you are:
- Traveling outside the Plan’s service area and run out of medications, or you become
ill and need a covered medication and cannot access a Network Pharmacy.
- Unable to obtain a covered medication in a timely manner within the Plan’s service
area.
- Filling a prescription for a covered medication that is not regularly stocked at an
accessible Network Pharmacy.
- Prescribed a covered medication that has been dispensed by a non-Network,
institution-based pharmacy, such as an emergency room, provider-based clinic, or
outpatient surgery setting. Before you fill a prescription under these circumstances,
when possible, contact Medco to see if there is a Network Pharmacy in your area.
